Reason: syntax correction. Code: - WARNING - The USB Video Class driver has moved to Using the Berlios SVN repository is now deprecated. Please check for download instructions. If you really want to compile this historical version, run 'make uvcvideo'.I was concerned about this source being deprecated. This looks like the best place to get the drivers. 570.273715 uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Hercules Dualpix Chat and Show Webcam (06f8:3007) 570.276559 uvcvideo: UVC non compliance - GETDEF(PROBE) not supported. I've googled a bit about the error, but it links me to some discussion for real geeks here (people who create the driver), it's still hard to perceive My lsusb -v gives. Furthemore, my 'gstreamer-properties' just displays a flickering image, that doesn't have nothing in common with the webcam. Sorry, was about to mention that my graphic drivers is the default one Hardy ships with, it's called 'ati'.
Anyone would like to help? Last edited by johny; February 2nd, 2009 at 03:28 PM. Code: dmesg (the next command in the set of instructions). A large slab of error messages resulted; neither the computer nor the camcorder recognize one another. I'm guessing the camcorder driver is compatible with my camcorder only when hooked up via USB (for webcam or grabbing still pictures from video footage).
I've been using Ubuntu on and off for a couple of years, but I'm feeling out of my depth here. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Last edited by kathryn; February 18th, 2009 at 01:59 PM. Usb 2.0 Pc Camera Bison Drivers For Macbook Pro
I hope you'll get some help here. Ok, posting this as a TEMP work around. I had to use Virtualbox's log to figure this out. It seems that I had to use it to reset the USB webcam then poof, my webcam worked in UBUNTU. But I had to do this EVERYTIME.
Here's what I have, 1st- make sure you install RESTRICTED, BUILD-ESSENTIAL, BACKPORTS, HEADERS & anything associated with GSPCA in synaptic. Then download the 2 files here.
Extract them, then compile & install them according to there README/INSTALLs. IGNORE the errors, just continue. Now u need to make a txt file with these 2 lines of commands in it: $sudo rmmod ehcihcd $sudo modprobe ehcihcd. (Do NOT use the $). Make the file executable. You can put this file on desktop or whatever, but it has to be manually run everytime you boot & WILL reset ALL usb devices. When you run it, rin terminal.
THIS IS NOT A FIX!!!! Just a work around until I/WE can find out what's going on & fix it. This is/has been used with Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 i386 & AMD64 ( Gateway USB 2.0 WebCam ID: 04f2:b027 ) with ALL updates & newest Kernel/Generic. Hope this helps you too, please let me know. TY, Jay Oh forgot to add- worked with SKYPE, EKIGA, CHEESE & a few others. Still getting no device /dev/video0 with camorama.
NOTE: I had the most success ONLY useing gspcav1-20071224. I had to ignore the others due to deprecated packages/lack of support/etc.
Learn more. The Plugable USB2-Micro-200X USB microscope provides up to 50X magnification optically and up to 200x and can be used on computers running Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux simply by plugging it into a spare USB 2.0 port and it requires no external power. It operates like a standard webcam and can be used with the default webcam software included in your computer’s operating system. Setup and Drivers Since our microscope uses a standard webcam chipset, it will automatically install default webcam drivers when plugged in to a computer. It can be used with any webcam app, like the camera app built in to Windows 8.1, Photo Booth in OSX, or a third party program like VLC media player. We also have custom Windows and OSX software designed specifically to work with the microscope. The download for this can be found below: Windows: Mac OSX: Raspberry Pi running Raspbian:.NOTE: Working with the current version of Raspian Jessie.
We have tested our Microscope with Linux using by using the following terminal commands: “sudo apt-get install guvcview” “guvcview” Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I zoom in on an object? A: The level of magnification is controlled by the silver focus wheel, then the microscope or the object must be moved to the appropriate distance in order to be in focus. Q: I can’t get my microscope to zoom past 30x indicated magnification, how do i get to 200x? A: At the closest distance with the clear shield touching the object, there are two possible magnifications. The first is at around 30x indicated, but if you continue to rotate the focus wheel, the image will get blurry, then sharp again at around 200x indicated! Q: How do I dim the LED lights?
A: The LED lights can be dimmed or turned off by rotating the black LED light control wheel near the rear of the microscope. If you are having problems with glare, try viewing your intended object at an angle. Q: I see a “device not detected” message in MicroCapture when it’s clearly connected. A: You may have to disconnect and reconnect the microscope when restarting MicroCapture, and it can take up to 30 seconds for MicroCapture to detect the microscope. It’s also possible that the microscope isn’t running under it’s specialized driver that MicroCapture requires in order to see the microscope.
If none of this helps, please contact us at support@plugable.com and we can help troubleshoot the issue.
